cloudy mountains
This is a card I made yesterday for my friend’s parents; in September they took me to the rocky, sandstone mountains in Germany, near the Czech border. It was a marvelous experience and the landscape was stunning – like nothing I’ve ever seen before – (take a look here) except that it was shrouded in cloud and it poured with rain incessantly. They supplied me with walking boots, waterproofs and all manner of deliciously naughty German dinners, their hospitality knew no boundaries and I shall be eternally grateful to them.
So I drew them a card of me at the top of the cloudy mountains. On the left, you can see the card as it appears in the envelope; looking down over the clouds. Then the card opens out (on the right) revealing the actual size of the mountains – the heights made me quite queasy and uneasy, much to the hilarity of the entire family. I hope they enjoy receiving it.
