Loop the loop

So I have the go-ahead to share some details from the Rachel Hair Trio’s new album. It’s not due for release until April 2012 (Wow! An exclusive!), but here we have the sneakiest preview of her album cover design that I’ve been working on. I can’t reveal any of the track names as that would be telling, but since the album title was announced yesterday, here are the ‘No More Wings’ cover trio in all their glory. Designing and drawing a CD album cover is something I’ve wanted to do since I can remember knowing what a CD cover was, so this is another first for me. More news on this when it become a reality next year!

One in a Million

So… the big news of the season (amongst everything else) is that I am officially published! I was approached to create the illustrations for a new children’s book – I was so excited at the prospect that I was leaping about after I got the initial phone call. So, it isn’t printed yet, but hold your horses! It is available on the Kindle (that sorcery filled pageless book that has batteries) for a tiny price, so if you’d like a swatch at it, it’s available on Amazon. There will certainly be more news soon once it has been printed in real, genuine paper book format – and in glorious technicolour! I’m thrilled to have been involved in this project and I hope it’ll be the first of many book related forays in the future! Hooray!

This is Mil in an online exclusive! You’re seeing the first glimpse of pages from inside the book here. It’s the first story written by newcomer Grace Hui, introducing Mil the wee shih tzu dog. He lives in Singapore and introduces the mechanics of being a modern dog in a tropical country. It’s just lovely. So if you know any small children who like to be read to, watch this space for the book’s imminent arrival!

Pencil it in

It’s here at last! With all the bathroom related problems I’ve been having, this year’s calendar has taken some time to get underway. It certainly has a slight bathroom flavour (as it were) but not too much toilet humour, you’ll be relieved to hear. However, it is definitely back to its original and best loved format. Now in its SIXTH triumphant year, I reckon we can just about call it legendary. The ‘legendary’ analogue girl 2012 calendar contains brand new, original poems with accompanying silly illustrations for just £10. Suitable for all ages, it comes packaged in a jolly envelope for easy gifting. A smashing oddball present for Christmas or a nice treat for yourself. Go on. Have a look at more pictures in my shop. Either order one there or drop me an email (rosie@analoguegirl.co.uk) and I’ll put one in the post! Hard sell over…
