Although it was a wee while ago, I thought I would put up my favourite HTR (Harris Tweed Ride) sketch. I chose a photograph of my friend, Hazel – she brought some snazz to the occasion with some smart shorts and a genuine Harris Tweed jacket. Her bike was also a stunner with pale peacock green rims. She’s a bit of a blogger and wrote a great post on the day – including the official film reel, other accounts and then my own write up and the portrait of her that you can see below. Nice!

It’s been wedding commission fever here this with THREE very different requests; this one, a Beatles themed one and a rather silly posed one. Word is getting around – next it’ll be birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs. Hopefully Ben and Louise were pleased with their little postcard sized drawing; he is a piper (as you might have guessed) and she is a highland dancer – both elements were requested by my client who would be gifting them this picture on their wedding day. In fact – there will be more news from this same client who is a Scottish musician… stay tuned!

It’s slow progress this year since I’ve been mega busy – but it is certainly on its way; the first illustrated poem from the 2012 Analogue Girl calendar! This is a silly one about an opticians and although it may still change before publication, we have the basics here. There’ll be twelve months of drawings and poetry fun in the end and they should be available in the next month or two. If you’d like to pre-order one, just email me and we’ll get the ball rolling.

Analogue girl goes corporate again! This is a recent poster I created for Shipowners. This time I was working for the London branch, not the Singapore one, but the general theory is the same (it just seems slightly less exotic). I took the poster they were currently using and created a brand new one, made it more multicultural and cleared out some of the chaff. I think it’s one of the most complex pieces of work I have ever produced – it’s essentially 15 different drawings all arranged together. It is actually quite difficult to come up with a way of cramming it all in there! Needless to say, I was working closely with Shipowners over the phone. Pretty pleased with it – I’m getting quicker and slicker at Adobe Illustrator all the time. The other posters I’ve drawn were from earlier this year and you can see the here.
