Another taster of the posters I’ve spent the best part of a week working on – say hello to the breathing apparatus, a stretcher and a respirator. I think they all look quite sunny and friendly, considering they’re all essential safety items. The posters themselves are shaping up well and there’s just a few more loose ends to tie up before tomorrow when I will (hopefully) hand in the completed pair.

Last week, one day after completing the pencil images for the Outsider competition, I was already drawing this image for a company in Singapore. It’s a sample for a shipping safety poster. It’s been approved (phew!) so I’ll be spending the rest of the week creating similar images and putting them together as finished posters. More here when they’re done!

And no, I don’t really know what they’re looking at, but hopefully the workmen reading the safety posters will!

A detail from a recent competition entry I submitted; the House of Illustration’s ‘Inside the Outsider’. Each submission had to include three illustrations from parts of Albert Camus’ novel, The Outsider and one binding (cover) design. If you’d like to see the actual images, they’re in the gallery bit, here. I particularly like these two gents so I’ve showcased them on their own. I had a bit of fun doing this submission, but I left it a bit last minute. Oops. I feel another New Year Resolution coming on…
