Fancy joining me and three other miscreants next Thursday evening (6-9pm) for a wee hot toddy and a gander at our new exhibition? Come to Edinburgh where I’ll be launching my new zine (see last post) and there will be a delightful array of fresh work for your eyes and to suit everyone’s pockets. You can get started on some Christmas shopping or just come for a look. If you don’t fancy the Thursday night, we’re open from then until Sunday afternoon, so no excuses. See you there!

My latest venture is an exhibition in Edinburgh next week with three fellow artist / designer /makers; Anna, Robbie and Toni. For my part, I’ll be showcasing my new ‘zine’ (self made magazine), free range, and also the calendar and other mini projects. Here’s a piece from the zine – coins with character… All will be revealed at the launch!

Please meet “The Tiny Wee Pocket Theatre” that I spent the weekend making. One folded sheet of A4 card printed with all the parts for the theatre. Printed on both sides, hand drawn and illustrated in full colour. Has all the pieces to create a variety of entertaining, mildly perilous and quite silly shows. All you need to create the theatre is a spare 5 minutes, a pair of scissors and some imagination. No glue = no sticky eyebrows! Hooray!
Set includes: 1 tiny wee pocket theatre, 3 background scenes, 3 props (plus one blank piece to draw yourself), 7 characters (plus 3 blank pieces to draw your own), 2 tickets (to invite people to come to your show). If you can’t see all that, look on the other side when you buy one!

This is a card I made yesterday for my friend’s parents; in September they took me to the rocky, sandstone mountains in Germany, near the Czech border. It was a marvelous experience and the landscape was stunning – like nothing I’ve ever seen before – (take a look here) except that it was shrouded in cloud and it poured with rain incessantly. They supplied me with walking boots, waterproofs and all manner of deliciously naughty German dinners, their hospitality knew no boundaries and I shall be eternally grateful to them.
So I drew them a card of me at the top of the cloudy mountains. On the left, you can see the card as it appears in the envelope; looking down over the clouds. Then the card opens out (on the right) revealing the actual size of the mountains – the heights made me quite queasy and uneasy, much to the hilarity of the entire family. I hope they enjoy receiving it.

It’s decidedly damp and driech outside analogue girl HQ, but I’m cosy inside stamping the reverse of the 2011 calendars. Now that people have actually parted with hard earned cash, I need to get these out into the wide world. You can see my monster stamp here, a detail of January and February and the backs of the other months. After each month, you can use them as postcards. What fun! There’s still some left…
